The £91M Guided Busway linking Hougton Regis, Dunstable, Luton and Luton Airport was inaugurated on 24th September 2013.Claimed to be the second longest busway in the world and the longest in an urban environment, it was officially opened by the Transport Minister Norman Baker MP.
Fibre Options provided a complete fibre optic infrastructure along the length of the scheme to support CCTV cameras, Help Points and Information Displays at the stops along the route and at the Interchange with Luton Railway Station. Over 21km of high capacity fibre optic cable was laid, providing a resilient and future-proof network to support the communications requirements of the Busway today and long into the future.
